the fact that you explained something for 10 minutes with a creeper watching you in a dark cave without dying is really impressive lol

I know slime block flying machines have a lot of uses, but I can’t look at them anymore without thinking about the End heists 😂

Zombie piglins from portals DO affect the mobcap, but they can spawn even if the cap is full because their spawning algorithm is based on ramdomticks.

One of the properties of Slime Blocks that I like is that you can one-hit them with anything and instamine them very easily. Great for cheap temporary blocks for building. Also makes a great safety net if you do not have Elytra yet.

I keep gold sword from zombie piglins, disenchant for a little xp, and then smelt for gold nuggets. A very slow xp and gold farm ;)

Please do an episode on ice (blue ice, packed ice, ice roads for boats and items, etc.) and snow (snowballs, killing stuff with powdered snow, snowmen, etc.).

To fix the zombie piglins you don't need to replace the whole thing with snow blocks, just use turtle eggs to make a specific killing area for them. This way you don't have to wait for the slime to take freezing damage.

at one point in the video the sticky piston pushed but didn't pull a block back. This was not an unpushable/unpullable block (I think), and you said you would mention why later in the video. Perhaps not for this video, (and correct me if I'm wrong) but I think if sticky pistons get a 1 tick pulse, they sometimes can push and not pull a block, because the pulse length is not long enough. LogicalGeekBoy has some great videos in his "Dissecting Minecraft" series about pulse lengths and ticks if anyone is interested.

That was so much fun! I really enjoyed watching Doc in Hermitcraft recently building his flying machine TNT dispenser and demolishing a huge slice of terrain. Think this is something I need to experiment with in a creative world first.

I have built my share of flying machines over the years for use in farms and such, but always from tutorials; this is the first time I've even had half an understanding of why and how they do what they do. As always, wonderful video!

This is probably the most introductory video about slime block I have ever seen! I think it will be more interesting if you can talk about some history of the mechanics change if you know any, like the flying machines before observer was introduced, and melon was the block used in building farms before there was glazed terracotta.

From the standpoint of an instructional video this is great! I (for one) would love to see more in depth explanations of individual blocks. I wonder what other blocks have uses that I've overlooked?

Use iron bars, slime blocks, and black carpets for a backyard trampoline.

I think it is also worth noting that slime blocks are one of the few blocks that can be instamined with no tools. If you need to clear water one block at a time, before you've found any sponges, or corral an elder guardian while you have mining fatigue, slime blocks have got you covered. But not in a gross way. Quick to pillar up with & east to tear down.

I'm pretty sure that "portal ziglins" do actually count towards the mobcap, but can spawn without caring about the mobcap – basically like spawner blocks. However, a single slime farm chunk typically never reaches the mobcap by itself, provided the player's despawn sphere is properly spawn-proof otherwise.

I do love how this escalates from “you can bounce pretty high on them” to ADVANCED WARFARE

that slime block usage is pretty cool, I like it more than the water bucket trick I think

My favorite doorways are trapdoors that drop onto some beds or slime for some bouncy action
