FAQ: CAN I USE 2 DIFFERENT ALTERNATORS IN THE SAME SYSTEM?

Being that Alternators are the essential part of battery life in a vehicle, you will see many builds in the basshead community with more than one alternator installed in the engine. It is important to know the proper way to setup this method and what equipment you will need to complete the job. The ammount of alternators can determine the longetvity of your ability to do demos.

My setup is standard alternator that runs car....but I want 4 extra heavy duty car batteries that will be in the back of my van. All To power miscellaneous other devices...Overnight sleeping fan, laptop etc etc

I want my batteries that are in the back of the van, to be able to be charged up while I drive the car all day. But when I park the car AND TURN IT OFF the fully charged batteries will last all through the night, as they power my laptop and my fan then sleep comfortably as the fan works all night.

I'm wondering how many alternators extra would I need?
