Speech therapy for children at home. As a speech therapist, I get asked all the time what to do when my toddler is not talking. Here are 3 quick tips that will help your little one start talking and improve their speech!

1) Spend time talking about what you are doing - narrating throughout your day.
2) Make sure you are repeating words in sentences three or more times to help build the connection.
3) Try offering simple and closed-end choices. Instead of "what do you want for a snack?" try a closed-end choice like "Do you want the orange or the apple?"

As a father who has questions about this in my child's life, some regarding their progress and others with my expectations, thank you. I really didn't have an idea of what I could do and taking them outside to someone first would likely not be helpful and cause some anxiety. Nearly brought me to tears. People need this help.

My daughter will be 3 next month, she talks but it’s not clear. It’s gibberish mostly. She uses words, and knows what things are and where they go but her speech is not clear.
