5 things I liked better about CARNIVAL than ROYAL CARIBBEAN cruise

I recently went on my first Carnival cruise in over a decade. As a loyal Royal Caribbean cruise fan, I wasn't sure what to expect, but found that there were actually a few things I liked BETTER about my Carnival cruise compared to Royal Caribbean.

I am starting to think many people have the wrong impression of Carnival. It isn’t advertised as a party ship, but a FUN ship. Carnival isn’t all about partying, although you can if you want. I spend my days relaxing. The only party I attend is the sail away. Also, many people dress up for the MDR. I always change clothes before going.

I ❤️ the chill atmosphere on Carnival as well. I've been on one RCL & one NCL. I'm going on 'Mardi Gras' next year & it'll be my 1st Mega Ship. (Super excited!) Then Celebration for my 50th bday in 2024. I may be older, but I STILL choose FUN! Bring on the deck party's please & thank you!

I go on ships due to casino offers. Carnival gives casino players free cash to play and better games as well! My wife and I like the chill atmosphere of Carnival but enjoy the Oasis class ships of Royal. We are going on the new Celebration inaugural cruise in Nov and will hopefully blow our minds!

I find Carnival is better. I went on RCL and well for one it took me 5 of the 7 days to remember where my cabin was! Carnival is for the budget people but I dont mind. Its all the people/staff that makes it better!

I am Platinum on Carnival. I like to have fun and relax on a vacation. I wear a coat and tie to work and when on a vacation I don't want to. I want to chill and relax. I love the Comedy Clubs on Carnival and the Piano Bar. If I decide I want to relax, I'll grab a drink and go back to the room and sit on the balcony and watch the ocean. I prefer smaller ships and Royal Caribbean only seems to have "Mega" ships. Who wants to go on vacation with 6, 000 other people and be in a crowd like a mall at Christmas time.

I wanted to say that I love carnivals app!! I have two cruises booked right now…one with Royal and one with carnival. I love that I can see my excursions and purchases on the app and their times for my June carnival cruise, whereas I am sailing Royal in 2 weeks and nothing has shown up yet unless I go to the actual website and even then, it isn’t organized like carnivals app is.

My first cruise was on the carnival Magic last year. I really liked it. We’re trying Royal oasis of the seas for our next cruise this august. I think it will be interesting to see the differences between the two cruise lines.

I just returned home from my 1st royal Caribbean on the Oasis. The ship is a beautiful however, everything closes too early for me. I missed 24hr pizza & Ice cream or yogurt on carnival. I hated the ice milk on royal which closed at 9pm everyday. I didn't like the food and I hated the food options in general. The "the club" was pretty weak. I do want to try the wonder of the sea. But I love carnival much better overall.

The party vibe really isn’t a Carnival thing but a thing for short cruises. My parents met on the Ecstasy and I just sailed on Ecstasy for her final voyage. I’ve been on most ships in Carnivals fleet and the Mardigras and Vista has a much more family orientation. Ecstasy is one of the last Fantasy class ships and has nowhere near the amount of activities as Dream, Vista, Excel class.
