The velocity only increases volume. Has nothing to do with the mix.

This tutorial isn't very good. Adding a fast distort to your kick will fuck up your transient and make your kick sound abrasive but not hit hard. Use a waveshaper and a soft slipper instead.

velocity does nothing other than turn up the volume, idk why people think “its gonna hit harder” if u turn the velocity up… like if ur running things after then itll have a louder input before ur distortion, but “hit harder” is when u know someone is talking out of their ass
