So... are you a K-series or a new-school L-series lover?

K24 all day. The new 1.5 and type r engine have a lot of catch up to do aftermarket wise

Might be too early to say but i feel like the small displacement of the l15 really hinders its potential for tuners. I dont know if they really are but i feel like the k series are built better

K-series will always be my to-go swap.

I was thinking about doing l15 swap for a 2010 honda fit. Smaller displacement that would yield great power with oem level mpg? I want a daily comuter that is also a sleeper with 300hp ?

As a daily driver I prefer my older k24 to my newer l 15.
Turbo lag is very aggravating!
Especially pulling out into traffic!

Haven't a ton of the L15's blown up? Even many with 300 and under?

I love my 1.5t civic Si but my dream project is to build a dc2 and k20/24 swap it.

Why is nobody talking about the poor design quality of the l series engine as a whole. There are major oiling issues, issues with the connecting rods, the crank, head bolts are weak causing them to be prone to the cylinder head lifting at high rpm. The list goes on. People should absolutely stay away from the l series engine.

I own a 2009 crv k24 and a 2018 SI L15. And honestly. I still love my crv to death. Something bout the n/a engines I really love.

Honda's L15B7 is highly NOT recommended for re-tuning or modifying for more Horse Power "HP" and torque. 180 to 205 HP is what the engine is designed for, not drag racing or as a small race car. If the maximum is 300HP, why spend the money only to have the engine blow up? Therefore, don't mess around with the L15xx engines. Find something else.

How much money does an L15B7 cost in the states, we have an L15BA engine in our UK 16> Civic's but word on the street is they are not as strong as the B7 in the SI ?

@MAPerformance What would you suggest for an 8th gen Si? I have an FG2, and a 95 DC2. My thought was to pick up a newer civic out of auction and take the L15 into the FG2, and swap the K20Z3 into the Integra and go turbo for a daily driver. I want the Si to be my track car, and a goal of 300-400 HP would be my goal there.

If I want to make 300 HP in my L15 FBO with stage 2 clutch and stock turbo is that safe or too much stress on stock turbo ? Also would you recommend the MHI turbo upgrade ?

I am going for a somewhat budget build. I am thinking of doing one of the older l15A series found in the 2nd gen fit. Or id go with a k20/24 frankenstien build. Im trying to do soemthing more unheard of swapping it into a 2nd gen Insight.

This video is setting up some unrealistic expectations for the L15

I want an L series car like the Fit, but keep it NA and just do some stickies, good pads, perhaps some nice wheels (Watanabes would be sweet) and a sport muffler (either HKS or Spoon). Now for a Honda bike I want an NPS-50 for that GET engine, and a Hotlap pipe (keep the baffle in) and perhaps a drop in filter like a K&N for the stock airbox because I don't want to have to do crazy jetting or deal with lost low end. Neither would be "actual fast" but would sure feel fast because both are small and fun to toss around due to a rigid frame and light weight.

I mean what do you want with a 1.5L? I understand you have to work with what you got but I think I would have pulled that ridgeline motor first
