Stihl Ms 261c vs Ms 260 Pro Power results!

New vs old Stihl Ms 261c vs the previous 50cc Stihl Ms 260 pro. Is the latest technology really worth it? Gone are the carb screws, and little orange screwdriver... How will we ever make it? Letting the saw tune itself? Surely the ear has to be better than some "Smart carb"...

Top of the line 50cc saws from Stihl. From ground guys, to climbers, tree service experts and landscapers alike. Very popular rugged saws. Great size for fetching firewood on the weekends, and still big enough to tackle some serious trees.

Decided to include a Classic 40cc "mini muscle" saw. Back in the day of American made, all metal, no anti-vibe chainsaws that were built to last. Watch and see this little monster in action.

Love the channel. You’re gonna blow up. I’ve got a 201T, 400C, and a 661CM. I love to see what they put out after you’ve worked your magic.

I would be really interested to see a 251 wood boss to compare to these. Then, take and remove the high limiter to richer it up, pull the spark screen, put a rim sprocket system on it, (Oregon power mate), advance the timing .020” . I did that to one of my 251’s and I was blown away what those mods did. It makes it perform like a pro saw.

Hey Joe could you port one of those homelite super ez automatic?

Thanks for posting, cool to see the changes over the years.
That's interesting. I think I could see 4 hp from the 261 and 3.22 hp for the 026?

I like the camera view from the sprocket side

just a video idea: Test different bar oils in different powerlevel saws to see if there is a noticable difference in powerloss

Very nice. I have a ms260 that I'm fxn to put a new OEM 44.7 p&c on.

Just a thought and could be expensive to dyno on a stock and ported saw. Higher octane fuel such as avgas, VP C9 or VP Regular unleaded vs 91 octane pump gas.

What mix ratio are you running? Have you tested 50-40-32:1 mix ratios on the dyno? I've read somewhere that an increase in oil mix ratio did give a slight hp increase with the theory of the extra oil created a better seal around the rings & cylinder.

I'm sure some people are disappointed in the homie, but for a 40 cc saw, it's dumping out horsepower comparable to a husky 350 (when you adjust for CCs). Not too bad.

What would you charge to port a ms440 a cheaper cylinder would be ok with me

Great video. Was kinda disappointed in the e-z performance. It is only 40 cc saw.... oh well!
Great work Joe. Keep up the great videos. Maybe a echo cs501p in comparison?

Might have a pipe design that would possibly help that little ez out. Hope there is a way to shoot you a picture or 2 of something! See if there is any gains for those little saws stock.

How does the 261Pro and the 026Pro compare to the 346xp? I'm sure that dog has been beat before lol. I'd love to send you my Solo 651.

So that 40cc homelite did 2.62. Bloody hell that ported echo 25t wasn't far behind that🤣... I guess if that was ported would be higher but still impressive from the little E👍

Very cool, man! I'm gonna send you a saw!

Joe, I think your numbers are off on the pounds per horsepower. Best power to weight is the 261c not the 260 or Homelite. You do great work and I like the videos!

Hey Joe is there any gains with porting on the 261 c? Or is it maxed out?
