Walking slowly is it? Lol didn’t Disney have animatronics four decades ago? Just strings at this point.

Human interactions scenarii -> tele-operation.
Dancing -> run an animation script and disco lights.
In short, not a trace of any tech progress. Those shows can be made by the hundreds and basically take people for fools.

“It quickly became clear that the robots were tele-operated, but I think it was unfortunate they didn’t make that explicit from the start. However, the presence of the robots gave a glimpse of what the future might look like. The hardware itself is impressive—fluid movement with low noise levels. That should have been anticipated. The software will follow, and we can already see a clear road map for its development. Discounting the importance of hardware, however, is a bad habit.”

Well, I want one so I can have a teacher, a hairdresser, a dentist, a doctor, a security guard and a helper at home.

Even if they were remote controlled these robots are still very impressive. Give credit where credit is due.

Steve Jobs did the same with the iPhone. I suspect they're close to something somewhat viable but just couldn't meet the deadline.

Musk isn't big on delayed gratification. He wants everything now.
It would have been far more impressive to wait a year, or even two, and show off fully autonomous robots. At this point you have to add a couple of years to anything he promises.

It is a matter of time. Imagine Tesla working together with Neuralink? But yes, it takes time and nobody knows how much. I think faster than I would wildly estimate now.

So what? Its pretty cool they can tele operate them too.

If people don't like it they are free to build their own. Are people suggesting Elon Musk is not moving the texhnology needle fast enough? I swear, if there was nothing left to complain about people would complain about that.

I don’t think that this is a bad thing, from the point of view of a IT guy, it shows that the robots and the code that runs the basic functions is working, considering how much experience Tesla hast with Object recognition and and visual environment navigation, it’s fair to say the hardware is in a good place and the software shouldn’t be the biggest issue considering what knowledge Tesla has inside its company.

I agree it would be better that they were not operated, but stil the moves and everything is great and like unrealistic even if they were controlled by humans. Please tell me other robot who can do this and some demo.

Bloomberg makes it sound like they have a scoop. The bots said so they were humans assisted during the event.

A Tesla Robitics staff explained they were using the event to gather data.
