Those are IR illuminators. The 3S is missing the depth sensor to be able to sell at the low price.

The plastic cracked on my sensor that makes it turn on when you put it on, but still works

I still have my quest 2 that cameras don’t work it stopped working a couple years ago so I’m glad i finally see this so I can get it fixed

im not knowledgeable in vr so i might be mistaken But couldn't a cover be installed that would protect it.

we need camera protectors for the quest 3 and 3s

The first thing I did once I got my quest was buy a protective cover for both the sensors and the lenses.

I’d suggest the same if you care about your hardware

I thought the 3s didn’t have depth sensors and instead had infrared? (Correct me if I’m wrong)

What if you put some hot glue around them? Like not touching them but in a circle around all three and have the hot glue protude out slightly farther than the lens? Ive thought about doing this but am worried if the heat would be a problem or not?
