"Chow Chows can be somewhat unfriendly."
Camille: "And I didn't take that personally."
What a good pup.

Narration: Chows are aloof, hard to train, and are bred to hunt. They are plush as a sofa but don't cuddle. Approach with caution.
Camille: I am the most adorable bork that ever borked.

I just love that she gives a little bit of educational briefing on the breeds she grooms.

I love how the fluffy dogs just deflate when they're washed

“I clip her nails…”
“and I shave out her bear paws…”
me: say it… say it!!
“I tidy up her grinch feet”
me: YES

Anyone who has dealt with a chow chow knows they can be a difficult breed....and then there's Camille, who's life motto appears to be "I am furry potato." Great stuff.

Training and socializing a chow is NO JOKE. The owners did a great job

I'm 73. My Chow Chow is 8. I have been a Chow owner most of my adult life. My last 3 Chows lived 13, 15 and 16 years. I hope my current guy will be around another 8 years. I had a red Chow that weighed 85 lbs which is considered large. My current Chow Chow is a shaded cinnamon that weighs 110# and is 26 inches at the withers, he's a very big boy. Socialization is very important with a dog that size. When raising a Chow you must be calm and even tempered. A Chow has a naturally defensive and protective nature. They are cautious and very discerning. When a Chow does not know you, you never approach. If he is interested in you, let him approach you. Most bites occur when a stranger wants to approach the 'cuddly' dog. A Chow sees this action as aggressive and responds accordingly. A Chow never forgives and never forgets. That's why all of the experiences that your Chow is exposed to must be positive. Having a Chow in your home is no different than another person being there.
When I lay him to rest, I hope I have enough life left in me to raise one more.

I love how she educates her viewers about the Dog breeds she grooms.

A little knowledge about pups never hurt nobody

She just hopped right in and out of that tub. This isn't her first rodeo. She's such a well-behaved pup!

I was a Chow mommy for 15 yrs. He was a Black Chow with a formidable pedigree. To the rest of the world, he was a formidable presence, but to his Mommy, he was the cutest cuddlebug ever...and I never had to worry about unwanted guests. It's been many years since his passing, and I still think of him and miss him. I've never had another dog, altho I have a bevy of cats. But he always got along swimmingly with my cats, my ferret, my goat and whatever else landed on my ark. If I could get another dog, it would definitely be a Chow.

You would never believe they aren’t known to be friendly. Camille seemed so calm even though she was panting a lot.

When I saw Chow chow in the title I'm like "this will be interesting". But that's an exceptionally well behaved Chow! Props to the owners!

Owners did hella of a good job training her! Chow Chows are a real difficult breed to train. 👏🏻

Looks like "A fantastic ambassador for his/her breed" compliment is only given to the best-behaving dogs XD

This does a great job of balancing both the "they're not teddy bears, don't get one if you're inexperienced in socializing a dog" and the "they can still be great dogs and this one is a very good girl" messages.

I'll always have a soft spot for chows; my first dog ever was a chow chow. She must have been special like Camille--she was cuddly and sweet and definitely had separation anxiety if we left her alone. And her patience for kids was unmatched; she would let my baby sister crawl all over her and would simply walk away when she'd had enough. She did have her wild, independent side--her favorite pastime was escaping our backyard by climbing over our chainlink fence. Once she escaped all the way to the airport runway of a military base. Another time she jumped from the second story of our house with nothing but a mild sprain on one ankle. Man, I miss that dog.
