There have always been many people that sought answers and advice when making big decisions in their life and many of the earlier civilizations in history relied on elders. Eventually many of these civilizations developed scientific systems that helped them to predict the future.

Throughout history the science of astrology has changed but one thing has remained consistent it is an important part of how many people in the world make sense of the world around them.

Most modern astrology experts believe in a system that uses 12 zodiac signs which consist of: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

Astrology isn't a Science, its a Combination of Philosophy, Spirituality and Metaphysics, its a tool that helps you when you use it the right way, not meant to be used as a way of prediction but rather a tool to help you find reflections of yourself.

There is no such thing as the "Vedanga Jayotisha" - Jyotish means the study of light (meaning Astrology) and is not Hindu (which is a religion) although it emerges from the sub-continent and is one of the branches of Vedic wisdom (Vedanga - which predates any notion of Hinduism), along with Ayurveda, Yoga, etc. It is not a book, as implied in this video, but a part of Vedanta.

Mathematics and astrology has been knowledge passed on from other celestial beings. Sumerians were TAUGHT mathematics and astrology. They didn't know untill they were told and taught. Nobody ever seems to ask who told them? It wasn't a god, but beings from outside of our planet. They knew things that only an outsider of Earth would know.
