If you kill spiders as wortox you can get like 3-4 souls in less than 15 seconds. And if wortox has already explored that part of the map, that means he can soul hop to that point of the map. Even on a cobblestone road, Willow cant compete.

First on the subject of dps: While bernie does add to the dps a mighty wolfgang still has a bigger dps.
Second on the subject of speed: Being as fast as everyone else doesn't equal being the fastest character plus the example you show was of a wortox with no soul on hand before starting as you knew a wortox with souls already on hand would put willow into the ground.
If you want to acually prove something, then take some notes for jakey.

This makes me think, I really wish Willow were better. Wendy and Wurt are both better minion characters while being more interesting as well, with more unique interactions. Willow just has a torch you can cook on and Bernie. Even Wilson is more interesting now. I don't remember the last time I even considered to play Willlow.

The speed argument can be made for literally any character, not just Willow, so there was no point in bringing it up. There's no reason she's one of 'the fastest characters in the game' when her speed is the same as objectively weak characters like wes' who, might I add, has a faster speed than her with his speedy balloon. The dps argument is also invalid when comparing her to characters like Webber and Wurt who can create armies at a minimal cost that can do damage double to triple Bernie's damage output depending on the size. Willow is very far from being a good character, let alone one of the best because of Bernie and her completely average speed. Another thing to add is you never explained why she's one of the fastest characters, you just said she was and went straight into comparing her to Wortox without explaining any reason she was fast, because there isn't one, she has the same speed - if not lower than characters like Wes, WX, Walter with Woby, etc. Do the speed test with her and Wilson, normal form Woodie, or any other character with no speed buff and it will be the exact same.

Wortox can teleport to any place on the map if he has enough souls, which are really easy to get farming food (bunnies) and cave bats. This is extremely useful, a friend is dying Far away? Teleport tô him. Need tô Farm anything and get back to the base? Teleport to the place and then Teleport back to the base. If there's a cave entrance near to the base, 4 to 6 Souls Will come to you daily. If you're farming bunnies, add more 3 to 6 Souls per day. The best part is that you're not Just playing for the Souls, you're getting good in the process. Need tô heal? Every day you'll have até least 4 Souls Grom bata, 80 HP for healing.

I'd say speed and damage are pretty important, but other things are important too. Willow isnt a bad character but her perks are not super convenient or interesting. Speed is just, you only explained why Wortox is slow (he isnt slow, you just showed flat speed, he is great for getting across cave gaps and especially ocean travel) an all character thing in the situation you showed. Bernie also isnt good for boss fighting because sure, he deals damage but compared to Wigfrid he is a lot less accessible, where as Wigfrid has a bunch of songs and a constant damage bonus. Her lighter is convenient though. Also, im very glad to see actual arguments from you!

Willow is great, although I wouldn't call her op, because still, like most characters she has her upsides and downsides, but the upsides are much better than downsides, so she is pretty good. Perhaps her only downside is low sanity, but it's also an upside cuz it's easier to manage. Also it's harder to die to darkness, cuz you have the lighter, plus you can use it to cook food. Not to mention her ability to cook food faster, she's a woman after all :P

A few points I have to make.
Willow has relatively low stats, which is mainly why it is underrated. Also:
for dps, since Bernie technically counts as an npc it instantly disqualifies Willow unless the Wigfrid has a Wilson using a tentacle spike every 1.5 seconds. also Bernie can only be used while Willow is insane and can only use one Bernie at a time. so using Bernie to fight is impractical unless you cheat and not have sanity monsters.
as for speed, Willow gets outclassed instantly for speed by WX-78 as his rework allows him to go at 175+% speed if using speed increasing items and circuits. even if the WX doesnt use 3 speed circuits, and only one, he could still go faster and have different circuits for better buffs.
but most importantly, (and this is the biggest flaw), every other character can do the same things in speed as a Willow.
The good thing is that you can put yourself on fire for sanity and not take damage. However, you still take overheating damage. While Bernie is good for shadow creatures, it isnt recommended to use it in a fight unless you want to use extra healing and armour and make the fight about 1.3 times longer.

Bruh about the speed thing, wortox is by far much faster than any other character to get to any distant location, merely by the fact that he possesses fast travel. The cost of the fast travel can easily be mitigated by killing bees, and you can store as many bees as you want in your inventory, getting a hundred souls for the mere cost of 10 silk, 30 grass, and 40 twigs... That would let you traverse the entire map quite easily.

You gave a very unfair situation for wortox in the video, because not only did you not take into account that you can PASSIVELY be gathering souls and will literally always have souls with you if you're not stupid, but the distance traveled was so worthless that it isn't even worth a soul hop unless you're in a hurry. Not to mention that you had a fully laid out cobblestone path as well as gave willow a walking cane. Wortox has the same movement speed as any other character when not soul hopping, which you failed to take into account. The amount of time that it would take to make a cross-map size cobblestone path would take YEARS longer than it would take even if you were to solely kill butterflies just to get 18 souls. And let's not forget the fact that those butterfly spawns are PER PLAYER and multiply based off of how many players are nearby!

About willow being strong with bernie, I'm not really sure what to think of that, because can't a terrorbeak or TWO just waltz up and rip bernie to shreds in mere minutes?? Did you have the second bernie there in the clip to distract them? Does that work? I am so confused about how this works... If you can use a second bernie to distract the nightmare creatures then I suppose willow is a lot more viable than I thought, but for a long time I've only been thinking of willow as a character who can cook food a whole lot faster, abuse magma pools, and cook food anywhere for an overpriced cost, with the disadvantage of dying REALLY QUICK in winter (or spring) if you ever start freezing to death. I do want to give her another chance, but if you don't get a good source of hound teeth and spider silk in order to make sewing kits, her "strength" is impossible to keep consistent. I can easily kill deerclops in 45 seconds or less using maxwell with shadow gear and shadow clone duelists...

2:12 willow doesn’t have any speed benefits, also wortox can go around killing butterflies while getting resources, or killing pigs. I think that you’re mentally ill and need to have both sides of your pillow warm, and chew cinnamon gum.
