Sir please call Mr. RP Singh more often. He has such clarity of thoughts and provides ground reality.

i think R.P singh has made a valid point ..today the village economy is not so prosperous that they could afford to pay for electricity especially in remotest rural and tribal areas....therefore renewable source of energy could prove to be better alternate option..

Is it just coincidence to have Mr. Watt in Discussion?

The 'meaningful' discussion as usual, unlike so called 9pm shows in private channels which bombard rather than discuss or debate.
I always appreciate RS TV and I watch it. Discussion on ''big picture" helps a lot to get more information from experienced people who are experts in their respective fields. This is also helping thousands of aspirants preparing for various competitive exams.

I belong to a relatively well-off but remote village in Jharkhand. Despite having good village-economy, our village receives less than 4 hours electricity on daily basis. I can relate each and every point opined by Mr. RP Singh. Centralized grid system can never be a sustainable option of electricity in Indian rural areas. The geographical remoteness of villages itself renders transmission a challenging task. One cyclone and the entire transmission comes to an halt for next 2-3 days. Stealing is another challenge which cannot be stopped untill electricity management is decentralised and participatory.

summary -saubhagya

1. 16320cr scheme electy supply to all households by 12/2018 free to poor, low cost to others.(large regions still out of coverage).

2. spin offs-replace kerosene , improve envmt, education & health, reduce migration, improve facilities like food processing, schools, skill development, financial inclusion, improve tourism potential.

3.affordability, supply remains issue , corruption & power games lead to inefficient coverage, need decentralized projects/cooperative management & involve people for small plant construction & maintenance , eliminate middlemen.

4.low PLF (COAL ), IMPROVING RENEWABLE ENERGY POTENTIAL for rural & remote area electrification, timely execution of projects, implementation of scheme & technical problems (storage/wind/small hydro/smart meters , pre paid connections) remains challenge .

5. discoms remain weakest link -- AT & C Losses, debt problem, consumers lack choice, low prices, PAYMENT DEFAULTS, improve technology to cut losses .

6.rising aspirations demand basic servics for improving facilities & standard of life

RP SINGH was really vocal regarding suggesting measures to counter the challenge. But he completely deviated from the question asked to him; how was it different from other schemes???

These kinds of programs don't have 100% success
It will be difficult for India to achieve this
India is poor country
First give electricity to those who can afford the place like Manesar doesn't have 24 hour supplier line
Jobs creation is only solution
These programs are not as good
