Human growth curves | Physiology | Biology | FuseSchool

When a baby is born, how do the doctors, nurses and midwives check that it is healthy? Apart from blood tests and visual inspections in some countries, the easiest way to check a baby is healthy is to weigh it. A low or high birth weight can raise concerns about possible health problems.

In this video you are going to learn about how, why and when people grow, what a human growth curves is, and how growth is measured.

When babies are born their weight, or more correctly - mass (in grams, kilograms or sometimes pounds) is measured and recorded. And while babies are small this is how health professionals track their growth; by regularly weighing them to check their mass is increasing.

I'm not sure if that graph is right for all guys cause a doctor had a case with someone at age 28 and his growth plates were not closed. I can get the link to the vid where the doc had that case. Some ppl are saying they still experience height growth until 25 maybe early 30s while still in tanner stage 4 the growth rates might be slow in some ppl.
