The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Tuesday that Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be participating in the parade of athletes at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics in July.

In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the decision on Wednesday, calling it "illegitimate, unjust, and unacceptable."

Meanwhile, Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Olympics Organizing Committee, justified the decision by stating that the IOC's "logic" did not allow the athletes to be presented as delegations during the opening ceremony.

The olympics are a joke. An expensive, corrupt and highly politicized joke at that. However, there are a few things we can look forward to. Paris, is going to loose money b/c the Olympics are a license to lose money. Its a feature, not a bug. Estimates are 3-5 billion Euros, which means you can expect the actual loses to be at least twice that figure. Next, Paris is overrun with fleas and bedbugs* atm, so, I would advise Russia to just skip the event entirely for that reason alone. Meanwhile, the deeply unpopular macaroni, has mused about sending a couple 1000 french troops to directly fight Russia in the ukraine region like he is some modern day Napoleon or something. I am not Russian, but, I have to wonder just how Russia perceives that particular move on the part of the the french.
*I predict the bedbugs will take gold in Paris.
If I can find fault Russia for anything, it is for holding the olympics, or the idea of them in any event, in much higher esteem than they actually warrant. Maria was not wrong in her statements, she is 100% correct, Russia should not have to endure this level of insult by the immensely corrupt IOC. If the IoC held the zio-uS led free-world order block to even 1/2 the standards the impose on Russia, all 'NATO' states, Japan, Australia, S. Korea, the self-professed jewish state, or most of the gulf monarchies to name a few, would also be competing as 'neutrals' or not be welcome in Paris either according to the brain-dead mayor of Paris.

Where is the ban on U.S. athletes for invading and occupying one third of Syria?

Will Israel be allowed to participate? Of course!

the perfect answer to this would be continuing the smo during the olympics and getting victories there, rejecting macron's proposal of observing a ceasefire during olympics, see their faces then let them have this small illusion of victory bcz in the end russia wins

Why wasn’t the US banned at the Athens 2004 games despite the nation participating in the Iraq War? Not only that, they won the most amount of medals for the games, despite losing the basketball tournament.

What about Israel?
And what about US, Canada and UK? For 20 years in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan they smoked 500K people?

When they wage a barbaric war in another country and your athletes abusing performance enhancing drugs is justification enough.
In the words of the Seinfeld soup dude, No Olympics for you!

Like the Russian, Chinese 🇨🇳 athletes have been using State-sponsored doping! They got caught many times before in the swimming team.

And here I thought it would have been for Russia's historical and rampant use of performance enhancing drugs in every Olympics.

Surprised that a lot of people here don’t understand the difference between a political issue and a humanitarian issue. What’s happening in Ukraine is a humanitarian issue involving the deaths of innocent Ukrainians, not a political one.

I’m honestly surprised how the two nations who neither recognize nor honour the Sovereignty and Human Rights of their own neighbours would be the first to complain and call out how another foreign governing body is being unfair in neither recognizing nor honouring their Right to exist and participate in the global event - which is not even entirely true since their athletes are still allowed to compete, just not under their respective Nation’s flags and uniforms.
