Wild ducks have climbed all over me to get seed I was feeding them by hand while sitting on the ground and I had to pick up and push them around with my hand to stop them from getting stuck in my crossed legs. Mother ducks _never_ abandoned a single one in all the sporadic years I was at that lake for the week. Touching/moving ducklings with stinky greasy human hands doesn't mean the parent WILL abandon them.
