Maddie was always my fave dancer on the show. I would watch the show with my now 23 year old daughter who I had in dance since she was 3. My daughter absolutely loved watching Maddie! Those girls on that show went through hell thanks to Abby and the producers and directors made them out to be little snobby brats. Even JoJo had her break down moments because of Abby.

As someone who’s in trauma therapy from being a competitive dancer. Yea. My mother has apologized to me too. These studios and studio directors are INCREDIBLY manipulative. Comparable to a cult manipulative. Maybe because it was televised and she was put in so young that wasn’t good but I mean my mother was making what she thought were the right decisions at the time.

My heart really broke for Paige when she forgot her solo!! It’s too much pressure on her learn the dance on one day and be given the song late at night! I feel so bad for her and all the other girls on dance moms! They went through so much trauma 💔😭😭

I hope these beautiful girls are okay and are thriving and healing. They were pushed way too hard by Abby, producers and their mothers. Jojo was lucky to be picked up by Nickelodeon and get away from this.

The fact that she sees Sia as this guardian angel who took her away from that madness and abuse is so sad to me, because all that actually happened is Maddie was taken away from the toxic, competitive environment that is Dance Moms, and thrust into a toxic co-dependent relationship with Sia. It's like when people end up with romantic partners that resemble an abusive family member of theirs, like, why can't everyone just have a happy ending?

What Maddie went through at a young age was horrible, she was treated like she was a brat by the moms, she had pressure on her to be perfect by Abby, and she didn't seem truly happy until she left 😢
