A smoother, quieter AR-15? The SMB from Armaspec.

The Sound Mitigation Buffer(SMB) was created to eliminate some of the noise that comes from the buffer/buffer spring, and also just create a slightly smoother cycle for your action. If you're looking to upgrade your buffer system, this is a really nice and inexpensive way to do it!

Am I the only one that was worried about his beard getting ripped out by that buffer tube?

*I'm pretty sure this is the first time we have all seen a skeletonized buffer tube*

Geissele braided wire spring and H2 buffer is perfect. Doesn't make your weird twang noise and it's supper durable.

Thank you! I installed one of these and put spring back in and it would fall out!!! You are the first one to tell me you don't need it! That is one of the reasons I buy a bunch of shit from you guys👏

A lot of the sound of a stock buffer sprig can be mitigated by using some dremel paste and gun Lupe in the buffer tube and shoot for around 200rnds. It will clean up the machine marks in the buffer tube and quite it down.

For me, any firearm I have must go bang. With this buffer system, it seems nice and smooth but my original buffer and chrome silicone spring feels great, more importantly, it works and cycles.

I just got this installed and I must say, it’s an amazing upgrade.

For the guys still running a spring buffer. Throw some wheel bearing grease on the spring. It quiets it down by alot. Not the cleanest method, but very effective. I'm sure it there's someone that will day it adds friction and effects your gas system, but in my experience doing it, there's little to no difference. After 500 rounds with the grease on the spring, it maintains the smooth quiet function, but did start to seep grease at the back of the receiver. When I say seep, I mean it shows if you have your rifle painted. Not a glob oozing out. Nice little hack a gun smith showed me until you can upgrade your buffer. Give it a try.

I just bought the one for the 9mm. I wish I'd known beforehand that the weight has to be removed from the BCG. Put a kink in my joy of installing it. I really like the Beach Bash '44 Tee. Very cool.

Was planning to upgrade my buffer system to a captured buffer, I'm glad I came across this! This system seems to be the best of all of them. Thanks for putting this out, I'll purchase for all my ARs

I have the previous gen 2. I absolutely love it. It makes a big difference. I bought all of the individual weights so I can tune my AR for several different scenarios. The weights were $10 ea.

Wtf is with that skeletonized buffer tube!? Seems like a no go for a serious build and facial hair lol

The buffer weight on these is 1 solid piece and the difference between this compared to JP’s loose buffer weight is the JP design reduce carrier bounce.

Been building firearms with DTT parts for years. Great quality, can't beat the prices!

The only issue I ran into was this.

A POF 7 position buffer tube.
I didn't realize it's just a little longer.

So, the 308 version would drop to far in.

What I did.

Cut some buffer spring coils, just enough to full the gap.

welded 2 washers to the spring.

Placed it in first and then the armspec buffer in and locked it in.

It let's the entire process smoothly work and doesn't bottom out...

I have the version 2 in all my ar15’s and Ar .308/6.5’s. They are super quiet and smooth. This is much cheaper than buying overpriced Jp buffer set ups.

Similar to the JP Silent capture system. I have the JP on three of my rifles. This type of buffer system greatly reduces the noise inherent in AR-15 & AR-10 operations (as well as smoothing the buffer cycling).
I wouldn’t build another AR platform rifle without the JP Silent Capture System or the Armaspec SMB.
