Did you know that Kung Fu Panda isn't just an entertaining movie about a panda who becomes a martial arts master? It also has a powerful message about parenting styles and their impact on children. In this short video, we explore how Tai Lung, Tigress, and Po represent three different types of children and how their parents' approaches shape their lives. From the "Golden Boy" who feels immense pressure to fulfill expectations to the "Wildcard" who struggles with traditional subjects, Kung Fu Panda's message is clear: parents should nurture their children with love and care, allowing them to find their own unique path in life.

Yeah I bet Lord Shen was that kid who decided to kill an entire race for no reason and kai is that kid who decided to kill their own best friend in heaven

Ain't no way any parent is gonna walk away from Kung Fu Panda with that message 😭😂

Also about Po, Shifu was an excellent “parent” trainer by assessing his unique motivation (food) and using it to teach and motivate him.

When shifu says "but a peach cannot defeat tai lung"

Oogway replies with: "but maybe it can, if you are willing to guide it, to nuture it, to believe in it."

I think the peach tree is supposed to represent po. You cant make a person blossom before its their time, just like a peach tree.

Well the movie message was
1)One often meets his destiny on the way he takes to avoid it
2)there are no accidents
3) For sometime to be special you just needs to believe it's special (there are no secret ingredients).

In my AP psychology class, there are four different ways of parental forms: authoritarian, permissive, authoritative and uninvolved.
*Authoritarian* parents are those who are very tough on their children, not allowing much failure and punishing everything harshly. These kids grow up not knowing how to properly monitor themselves, since their parents were the ones who decided what was wrong and right.
*Permissive* parents are careless and don’t really care if their kids are doing bad, as long as they’re seen by their kids in a good light. These kids grow up spoiled and have trouble understanding that the real world isn’t “I want it so it’s mine.”
*Authoritative* parents are the balance of the first two, approving good behavior and punishing bad behavior, usually teaching with reasoning and understanding. These kids grow up the best.
*Uninvolved* parents either didn’t really include themselves in their kids lives, either by simply not spending time with them, or going out for milk and never coming back.

Lord Shen was the spoilt child who complained about his parents not loving him even though they did 😂

I feel like you could also argue that the peacock was spoiled, but I haven’t seen the movie in a while

Edit: after reading the comments, neglected seems to apply better.

The Kung Fo Panda was actually based off of three things in order
1. Body
2. Mind
3. Spirit

The first is based on physical training.

Second is based on mental/emotional side of things and moving on.

Third is self-explained, he gets in touch with his spiritual side of things(and his village gets in touch with the spirit things too).

I don’t think this is specifically Asian parenting, since parents of any race and origin can treat their kids like absolute crap
