Subscribe to our Channel to get regular Video Lessons in VB.Net Games Programming.
Because we are a slow talker, we recommend you use the YouTube "Tools Cog" on the player bar to watch the video at a speed of 1.5x or even 1.75x.
This Project is a Beginner’s Project, using Buttons, Picture Boxes, and Labels.
New learning involves the "Visible" property and "Enabled" property of VB.Net Objects.
The idea is to progressively reveal Names and Pictures of a Top 5, from Number 5 up to Number 1.
Your Top 5 topic can be about Movies, Music, Cars, Sports Teams, Actors, TV Shows, Cities, Music, etc.
Our Top 5 is on Tennis Players.
In this VB.Net lesson we specifically learn:
- How to Place a Background Image on a Form.
- How to Resize and Style Coloured Buttons.
- How to use the VISIBLE Property on Objects.
- How to use the ENABLED Property on Objects.
- How to Create a Flow Path in our Program, which the User must follow to progress through the Application’s Processing activities.
- How to use Pseudocode to Design the Processing for a Program Algorithm.
- How to make an additional Application which will help young children learn some Healthy Fruits.
The learning here will be useful for future course lessons and will also consolidate what we have learned in the VB.Net Games Course so far.
If you are a beginner VB.Net Programmer, then it is extremely important that you have completed the previous "Jumping Button" lesson.
This lesson will be useful to anyone beginning to learn VB.Net for the purpose of creating Games or Business Applications.
Because we are a slow talker, we recommend you use the YouTube "Tools Cog" on the player bar to watch the video at a speed of 1.5x or even 1.75x.
If you are a Teacher watching this video we suggest you click the downloads link below and get all of the FREE lesson materials for your students.
Give these resources to your students and we think you will find that some of them will "get it" very quickly. The other students need to watch this video which goes through everything in full detail slowly step by step with repetition of examples.
This is a detailed video, if you want to fast track learning about using the Visible and Enabled Properties in VB.Net, then just Download and quickly read through the FREE PDF of the Presentation using the Link given further down below.
There is also a downloadable FREE Word Document giving all of the Form Design as well as the Full Program Code that goes behind each Form. If you already have VB.Net experience and want to make the App quickly, then just use this "no frills" Word document.
Then for anything you do not fully understand in these two documents, simply use the Timeline Index below to go and watch the relevant section of Video explanation.
If you have the time it will be extremely beneficial to watch the entire video to maximize learning outcomes.
