Netherlands Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren has virtually admitted that NATO is fighting a proxy war against Russia, as she said that funding Ukraine is a very cheap way to ward off Putin's threat to the U.S.-led bloc. The comments came amid concerns about dwindling western support to Ukraine.

The way these people think is disgusting. How can you say very cheap way? They don't value human lives, Ukraine has lost over 500k pple. How is that cheap?

If you think that spending millions or even billions of dollars and giving tons of military equipment is a very cheap way to fight against a country that was never a threat to the Nato alliance, you don't know how to calculate. The European economy has been trashed and its citizens are living under inflationary conditions, while the U.S. rakes in money by selling its LNG 5 times more expensive than the Russian gas. Russia never posed a threat to Nato, Nato has surrounded Russia and the U.S. has done the same near China. It is pathetic

nato is not a defensive alliance. They illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the UN Charter). We must never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria etc.

She is saying the facts " Ukraine are the ones dying not NATO", Elensky has turned his country into a battle field by depopulating his nation. 😂😂😂

🤬🤬Madeleine Albright: "500.000 dead Iraqi children were worth it". Kajsa Ollongren: "500.000 KIA Ukrainians are cheap" when deterring Russia.

As a person from the Netherlands, I am so ashamed of my politicians... she basically just called all those Ukrainian dead soldiers cheap cannon fodder....

Russia was never a threat to NATO .it even applied to join it when the soviet Union broke up, but America said no because it needed an enemy to warrant all the money it spend on the industrial military complex and as a way to dictate to the rest of us how to live under there tyranny

She is either just parroting Washington, s stance, or she hasn't really thought through the logic of what she is saying. Russia was never a threat to NATO.

A poor attempt to put a positive spin on a bad situation. We all know the EU support for Ukraine has been a very expensive (and futile) way to 'fight' Russia. If support for Kiev was to empower NATO, then they have been defeated.

She's only confirming what we all knew since the start of this conflict in 2014.
Funny that it took the Dutch close to 10 years to come to this conclusion.
What she also doesn't seem to grasp is that it's not just aimed at Russia, but at the EU as well.
When Biden was talking about repatriating the industry and high paying jobs, to revive US's ailing industry, he was not talking about the Russian or Chinese industry, but Europe's.
European industry was getting way too close to Russia, not only strengthening Russia, but also Europe's who benefited from cheap Russian energy and became competitors to the the little industry the US has left.
The best way to change this was getting the Europeans involved in a conflict with Russia.
This objective was clearly a major success and Europe will pay dearly for the stupidity of their leaders.
Problem is that the US will not profit from it either.
Most of the industry leaving Europe is not going to the US, but to Asia and the European market is declining due to the fact that the purchasing power of European citizens is degrading to the level that most of them are already happy when they can make ends meet at the end of the month, leaving little space for the purchase of American goods, which will still be more expensive than the same goods coming from Asia.
She's also wrong about Russian strength.
Russia was in no way a thread to any NATO country.
It's military was a fraction of what it was during Soviet times and was mainly focused on defensive equipment.
The conflict however changed the situation and instead of weakening Russia, it is strengthening it's military significantly.
Russia is now not only strengthening it's manpower but also seriously investing in weapons which do form a thread to NATO.
Europe's military force is however seriously diminished.
Germany has now to buy back old tanks they sold to Switzerland, because they donated nearly their complete stock to Ukraine and the UK is not off any better, some of the Baltic states donated nearly their complete military stocks of equipment and ammunition to Ukraine and all of them are out of heavy artillery ammunition.

Russia is however not looking for a war with any country and would rather prefer to do business with them.
The war in Ukraine was forced on them by the US and NATO who seriously miscalculated and massively underestimated Russia as well economically as militarily.
The only way to resolve this conflict is to go back to the Russian proposals for a new European Safety Pact.
The alternative is the complete destruction of Ukraine, which would be a major humiliation for NATO and the US.

This is not Stalin, who wanted to sweep West. It's Putin who wouldn't do that in a thousand years, unless you provoke him.
