I would have made the zombies 10% slower, but have double the health and damage, and make them spawn more often in denser groups.

You could use the mod "eyes in the dark", "Harvester night", "Hardcore darkness" "dynamic lighting" "blood moon" maybe "rats" and a gun mod so the player has a chance
