This is from Smit Salvage: While moving an electric car with water damage, a reaction occurred in the battery, causing a fire, reports salvage company Smit Salvage. As soon as the vehicle was placed in a waiting container, another fire broke out.

Imagine living in a high rise apartment building knowing that there's a bunch of these parked in the underground garage beneath you.

Its steam not fire, Its the chemical reaction you get from electrolysis dumping an 800v battery into water to discharge it very very quickly will do exactly what you saw.

Actually, the cars did not catch fire.

The electrical cars damaged are put into water which discharges the remaining battery – – which creates steam and looks like smoke.

There were no more fires. The boxes were there on purpose – to keep the cars from leaking hazardous chemicals into the water and land- then moved inside boxes which were heavily tarped

Will they rename the ship, "The Matchbox"?

Its NOT on fire, its steam from drowning and shorting the batteries

What that shows is a vehicle with the upper half fire damaged, not the battery. They then submerge the car as part of standard EV fire risk protocols. Nothing unusual, nothing sinister, nothing dangerous.

Perhaps you should concentrate on facts rather than conspiratorial lies?

"catching fire during unloading" = offloaded from ship and dumped into a trough for water on purpose 😂😂

Great phishing for content there

Lies! The car didn't catch fire during offloading did it?! It was put in a water bath to short-circuit any electric charge still in the batteries.

you have no idea what you are talking about

Actually it is being immersed into a solution of either just plain water or a chemical composition and what happens is it in essence destroys the batteries and takes away the dangers of them Catching Fire. I don't know if they're actually Catching Fire or if this is just smoke from the process but they do cover it up with a fireproof tarp and it stays in there for sometime to make it safe.

Look how scared they are of that ev. A freaking container for each car. Firemen fully geared up with tubes and have to put a tarp over it too.
No wonder it takes so much time.

Don't see them doing that with ICE cars.

C'est le résultat du court-circuit vu que la voiture a été mise dans l'eau par mesure de sécurité... Du fait qu'elle a été brûlée à l'intérieur du navire..rien d'alarmant... Vidéo putaclic

Lol look at all the smoke damage on it, never trust an EV.

Of course a reaction occured when you submerge a fire damaged electric car underwater. That's the idea behind the submersion. They're draining the charges out of all of the batteries in the safest way possible. That "smoke" is steam as the water absorbs the heat of the batteries' discharging energy into the water. Then the water disperses the heat as steam.

This process allows safer dismantling of the car with no fears of electrocution or exploding batteries.

This would be a concentrated brine bath to discharge and neutralize the battery.
