Love this comparison and wish I had seen it before buying both lenses. I probably wouldn't have gotten the zoom. Now I get lens fatigue deciding which lens to be my everyday carry. The 35GM is optically the better lens, but the 24-70 is so damn versatile, and as you showed, does a fine job at 35mm.

I definitely like how the f1.4 looks for your talking head example! Though I noticed if you use your hands too far from your body they blur out a lot detracting from the character they add. I do a lot more interactive videos that use more depth, so my preference is the higher f stop. Thanks!

Deserves more traction, this little series. For video, I love the zoom. The look, everything. And the focus breathing is minimal too, along with having a very good minimal focus distance on the Sigma and GM ii. But, for 24mm…damn, I always found the zoom just a bit flat. Unless you get real close. That’s more for photo though. I’m beginning to learn what I like and I think it’s zoom for video and primes for photography. Shame I can only afford one 😂.

bad test . Everything will be different and difference will be more visible as soon as you move objects further away from you camera

Man, there is no way lens can impact noise or grain. And you compare not lenses in this video but aperture

The background music is quite distracting, I think that the video would have been better without.
Apart from that, a good video.
