Find your own competitive advantage and build value on it.... I don't think you can ever manufacture cheaper than China which has the entire value-chain from raw resources, materials and manufacturing equipments.

The entire world can't compete with China in these e.v. transportation sector. Period. And emerging new energy sectors. No one wants over priced ev's.
First electric cars were invented hundred years ago by West but it later got sidelined in favour of cheap gas fuelled vehicles. Only if they had continued on that initial invention, majority of the the world's population would have very affordable electric vehicles to drive.

Cheapest Tesla in Canada is $50k. They want to push the ‘EV is good for environment’ narrative, but wouldn’t allow you to get them cheap. Lol.

In a not distant past it is normal for the west to export massively their products to the rest of the world in the name of free trade. However when some countries in the global south specially China starts exporting manufactured high tech products to the west, the latter finds it unacceptable and resorts to all kinds of false arguments and take sanctions to hamper the development of the exporting countries. The west is unable or refuse to readjust to the new realities of the current world. They should realize that China is just too big to contain.

Chinese EVs are not cheaper because of subsidies but due to vertical integration from mining to logistics to battery production to high tech factories plus 15 years head start in battery R&D. In fact Tesla received far more 'subsidies' in China from cheap land, water, power etc than local makers. The local Shanghai government even helped Tesla hire thousands of people who worked day and night to have its gigafactory up and running in record time. Local makers are just that good to be able to compete with and often beat Tesla.

Canada and America are so small population wise that China alone can progress without selling EVs to these declining countries. You ll witness in your lifetime how Empires fall under their own weight.
