I don’t understand why now that we have keyless entry and start car companies don’t do this more often. It would be so nice to have a watch/car piece you can bring anywhere you go that actually is a part of the vehicle!

It would be a massively collectible item but you'd need to sit on it for that to increase in value. But it's like the time period, when the Delorean first came out you could also go for the Porsche instead which was way better value for money at the time (like you've said before) you're just sticking with your guns and rightly so I'd do the same damn thing myselfn

That price seems kind of reasonable for such a low volume watch. If I wasn't broke, or if the price was a bit lower I would definitely consider buying one

Problem with REC is how their watches just look so cheap and have only fashion value.

This watch is full of misleading advertising.

Firstly the only part of the watch that is made frim a recycled DeLorean part is the watch face. But not the whole watch face: "An original part of one of John DeLorean’s company DeLorean cars has been seamlessly repurposed into the outer ring-piece of the watch face." According to the website.
So now they're suddenly talking about a part of one of John Delorean's company cars, not his own one; kinda foggy description.

If you read further, it sounds like they just upcycled old broken parts that were changed during a service and left to rot on a junkyard. (Don't get me wrong, better than destroying working parts for a watch project).

Nowhere on the website they mention which parts specifically they were using for the watch and to which degree they were altered in shape or form... So basically what you pay 2000 USD for could have just been a metal bolt, stamped flat, polished, brushed and finished with an indentation that matches the look of the watch.

Lastly, the movement, whilst not bad, costs between 100 and 200 USD RETAIL, leaving me wondering, where the rest of the money went.

In conclusion this is no more than a 1000 USD watch with really sketchy marketing.
