My honest opinion on this story is the wife was convinced by her friend's to cheat on op but without any s*x and that ended up causing op's marriage to start spiraling and the moment op's wife suggested an open marriage without realizing it she caused his feelings to die and now that she's realized he found someone who could convince him to leave the sinking ship that is his marriage she started to regret her decision and noticed things that made her realize that she was happier with a closed marriage, sadly for her tho that the moment op found someone who made him happier was the point of no return where it became no longer possible to save their marriage.
