thank you so much alice! this calmed me down a lot! i had rlly clear skin until i started using retinol serum, hyaluron night-creme, vitamin C serum and occasionally an aloe vera gel. the pimples are really tiny, only noticeable from REALLY close distance. i will still see a skin doctor ASAP but this vid explained a lot and i just wanted to say thx for the info!

My dermatologist prescribed me to use clindamycin and nicotinamide gel at morning and adaplene 0.1% at night. And it's 3rd week. My skin Purging now. When the purging will stop ?

I didnt get skin purging the first day when i used lil of pilgrims retinol night face cream but the next day used more that started noticing the purging morning....was sceptical about continuing it but then now i feel i should proceed, any idea if i can continue over or should i wait for the purging to reduce n use?

I swithced my vit a, e, c bar soap with Salacylic Acid cleanser from cosrx. Before using it my skin was ok (i switched because i thought it might help with my blackheads) but right now I have pimples on my left cheeck and forehead. I am not sure if it caused the pimples because i have been also stressed lately because of school. Im gonna keep using it for a month to see if this is worth it or not.

Hi, I would like to ask if a moisturizer can cause purging or it's just a breakout. Recenty I changed my moisturizer from cerave with SPF to the moisturizer from cerave for dry skin because I thought I was the cause of some pimples on my face, but after 2 weeks of using it my skin is way worse, now I have pimples on areas were I didn't used to have, so maby I am allergic to some ingredient in this moisturizer. I would like to know if it would be better to stop using it immediately and go back to my old moisturizer. Thank you!

Is lactezin containing lactoferrin combined with vit E and zinc causes purging? Because my face got acnes that are deeply rooted around my lips and jawline and it's too many. Some acne also appears on my T-zone. Please help me because this is unusual for me.

I have been using the paula’s choice BHA exfoliant and the ordinary hyaluronic acid 2 + b5 for three weeks and now I’m getting thick red pimples under my skin on the cheek area. Is my skin purging ?

I've been using 1% Salicylic acid face cleanser and 10% Niacinamide serum with zinc. For first 2 days, Nothing happened. On the 3rd day I noticed 5-6 New pimples on my cheeks. Can I still continue this routine.
Edit: My skin is not very oily, dry or normal on cheeks and oily on my nose and forehead.

I have acne and I’ve always had for years. When I’m using products for my face and let’s say it does work for me, im suppose to see purging? Or not necessarily? Can those products clear my skin without purging? Or if has to go through purging first before my skin clears? If it doesn’t purge then does it mean it’s not gonna help my skin clear up?

Thank you, So useful and helpful but still a little confused, I am getting new pimples from places I would normally break out or where I have closed comedones ever since i started using a salicylic acid serum and chemical exfoliants, I completely stopped using these products due to the fact that the pimples are dry and itchy so its hard to tell if its a purge or like you said an allergic reaction to the product.. can you please help? 😭 & also should I continue to use these products or not?

I've been using celeteque hydration products the facial wash consist of lactic acid and the moisturizer has citric acid, for almost 3 weeks, in my first week of using I've seen the effects like there's no pimple pumping on my face and no flaking but for the weeks later (2 weeks ) I'm seeing that there's a bumps and red spots on my face and that bumps become bigger it's keep coming everyday it is a purging or breakout? please someone answer me

If been using retinol 1% in squalance from the Ordina and paulas choice 2% BHA liquid. Do these serums cause purging??
