I love the Patriot. We just rented one and it's hella comfy and roomy on the inside thanks to her tissue box shape and the 2.4L 4cyl has a lot of push. Plus she is really good looking from all angles.

These guys do a phenomenal job. Thanks Nathan and Roman. Constructive criticism is ok, being rude and disrespectful is NOT. Keep up the good work guys!

I just picked up a 2014 Patriot North 2.4 liter 4WD 6 speed auto.I love the tough square shoulder look, it looks retro and super cool..like a Jeep should... I love the ride very smooth, and handles very nicely...I'm glad I picked what might be the last of this cool old style rugged look Patriot, before they ruin it by making it "stylish" whatever that means...oh I know...make it look like everything else out there...like a GD egg!!!
Nope this is one cool vehicle that will get me great gas mileage, and get me through the rough winters we have here...and take me down some trails, that I wouldn't have in my last SUV!!  Love this vehicle!!

The thing that surprised me about the patriot is that it feels quick with the 6 speed auto and the 2.4l

I love the look of the jeep patriot. I'm going to have to get another car soon because of winter, and I'll be pretty upset if I can't get one of these. Good mpg, and still looks like a pretty good winter car

We have the 07 Jeep Patriot 5sp sport front wheel drive. We like it runs great and handles well. If it snows deep we have my 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee to tool around in. Love both of my Jeeps. Next one will be a Wrangler for sure. And another Grand...

I actually like the look of it better than I do some of the newer ones.

Just got a 2014 4x4 with the 2.4 and the 5M. That combo by far delivered the best performance. I test drove them all. The 2.4 and stick shift will smoke the front tires without trying. Autos are for the elderly get the stick.

The wife liked this and the grand Cherokee! I think the shiny red paint caught her attention!

The Explorer Sport (which makes 365hp) and Dodge Durango 5.7 (which makes 360hp) start at about $42, 000-ish. As far as I can tell, these are the most affordable SUVs that make 'mid' 300hp. The Toyota Sequoia and Chevy Tahoe are a bit more expensive, but they could be alternatives - sort of. I hope that helps!

I bought a 2014 Patriot Sport, having been a Cherokee driver for years. Nice vehicle, no regrets yet.

No, the TFLcar off-road testing trail is currently unaccessible because of Colorado's massive floods.

I have a 2012 Patriot Latitude, not trail rated because I hate the CVT, but enjoyable enough to drive as a manual..

I got a 2016 I bought used 2 years ago. Sport model with 2.4l and 6 speed auto. It’s got 75k miles on it now. My biggest complaint is the bad electronics. My Crankshaft Position Sensor failed on me a couple weeks ago and I’m afraid other electronic components aren’t far behind. It’s a good motor and transmission, the Traction control and AWD system is weird but I like it. It’s a real hoot to drift in the snow. Turn the traction control off and it drifts as long as you’re applying gas. Let off and it’ll straighten out.

I’ve put some sound deadening insulation in the ceiling and from the back seat all the way back to the rear hatch. I need to pull door panels and the front seats and do the same. I really like my Patriot but I’m worried about long term reliability. I had a 92 Ranger in 2014 that I kept for 7 years. Didn’t have a single electronics issue. 7 year old Patriot already has stuff failing. Not confidence inspiring.

Agreed. It has that cherokee feel too. If youve sat in one before it is really bare bones. I just cant wait to see the aftermarket take this car over!

My sister just bought the FWD version of the patriot. I told her to take it back to the dealer and get the 4x4, but she didn't feel like paying $6, 000 extra for it. Safe to say I'll be hesitant to pull her out of the snow with my Ram

Yep, those would kick ass too. I like the turbo I-4 as it has a very usable torque curve and it performs well at high altitude.

You guys are based in the Boulder area, right? I thought most of the flooding happened up around Ft. Collins -- an hour north on I-25.

I like my 2015 Patriot but I hate it's headlights they seriously suck for night driving and I do a lot of night driving too, the high beam ain't useful either.

What I think is zany is to get the "Trail Rated" version Patriot, you have to get the "Freedom II" Package that only comes with the CVT.
