The majority of mutations are nearly neutral. This means natural selection (differential reproduction) cannot "see" them. They are essentially invisible to selection. Nearly neutral mutations have only slightly deleterious effects on organismal functionality. They are not harmful enough to be acted upon by selection. Natural selection acts on the most detrimental mutations, but is mostly powerless to stop the accumulation of low-impact mutations. These low-impact mutations are therefore subject to genetic drift (since selection does nothing to remove them from the equation). Genetic drift is defined as random changes in allele frequencies within a population due to a “sampling error” in the transmission of gametes. Since slightly deleterious mutations are unselectable, and subject to genetic drift, they result in genetic degeneration. This is because there is no way to remove these slightly harmful mutations from the genomes of living organisms.

A well respected evolutionary biologist named Douglas Futuyma, has acknowledged the significance of nearly neutral mutations:
“The neutral theory of molecular evolution holds that although a small minority of mutations in DNA or protein sequences are advantageous and are fixed by natural selection, and although many mutations are disadvantageous and are eliminated by natural selection, the great majority of those mutations that are fixed are effectively neutral with respect to fitness and are fixed by genetic drift”.
Douglas J. Futuyma, Evolution, Sinauer Associates, Inc. Publishers. Sunderland, MA (2005).

There exists a major challenge that remains unanswered by proponents of common descent. This is a challenge that essentially precludes evolutionism from being true. Over long periods of time, the per generation rate (which is fast) equals (or nearly equals) the fixation rate. Since the majority of mutations are low-impact and slightly deleterious, it is irreversible and irreparable damage every time one of these mutations get stuck in the genomes of every individual in the population.

In an introductory level textbook, Evolution, Douglas Futuyma (who is also an anti-creationist), writes:
“Since, on average, it will take 4Ne generations for such mutations to reach fixation, about the same number of neutral mutations should be fixed every generation: the rate of fixation of mutations is theoretically constant, and equals the neutral mutation rate. This is the theoretical basis of the molecular clock.”
Douglas J. Futuyma, Evolution, Sinauer Associates, Inc. Publishers. Sunderland, MA (2005).

Again, standard population genetics theory teaches that the rate of fixation of neutral mutations (which includes effectively neutral mutations—i.e., very slightly deleterious mutations) in a population equals the neutral mutation rate. Even with ongoing random loss due to genetic drift, classical population genetic theory states that over evolutionary timescales, a neutral mutation-fixation equilibrium point will be reached. When this occurs, the neutral mutation rate will equal the fixation rate. For example, if the effectively neutral mutation rate is 50 per person per generation, then that means 50 nearly neutral (very slightly deleterious) mutations will become fixed every generation.

Once those nucleotides become fixed, they can never be removed from the population due to genetic drift or purifying selection, except in the highly uncommon circumstance of a back mutation—they have become permanently established in the genome. The inevitable consequence of this process of fixation via genetic drift is the systematic decline in mean fitness (typically in very small increments) every time a deleterious fixation event occurs.

In summary, there is no way for selection or drift to resolve the eventual genetic degeneration of biological organisms. Mutation accumulation puts clear shelf lives on genomes. And even if we assume evolution as a viable model, too many slightly deleterious mutations would become fixed every single generation for any real forward evolution to take place. Genomes would simply degenerate, and living organisms would descend more and more into genetic sickness. More time equals more degeneration and more extinction. This is yet another one of the many lines of genetic related evidence that precludes common descent from being true. The theory of evolution has essentially been falsified.

Since slightly deleterious mutations are unselectable, and subject to genetic drift, they result in genetic degeneration. For those who are interested, the statements I confirm about neutral mutations are correct, it's just that Donny's conclusions are all wrong. I'll be doing an in depth discussion of why that is on Tuesday Feb 20 on Dr. Dan (Creation Myths)'s channel with two PhD geneticists.

If at some point Donny wants to schedule a debate with me on this topic, I'll explain it to him too.

The look on your opponents face says a lot, Donnie. He seems very arrogant and prideful. Hopefully as the conversation went on it helped him.

God MADE Everything of It’s OWN Kind & Variety ! A Dog is Still a Dog But A Variety & Different Kinds But Nonetheless it’s STILL a Dog, A Spider is Still a Spider But there is Different Kinds & Varieties Same with the Human Race Many Different Kinds & Varieties But Nonetheless we are all Still Humans No Changes Just Different Kinds & Varieties ! That’s How MADE Everything : a Germ is Still a Germ but it has Different Kinds & Varieties ! God is the Only CREATOR of EVERYTHING & God Asked Adam to Name them all & he did, Adam was Smart he called the Helpmate Woman because she came forth out a man made from Adam’s Rib AMAZING you cannot make any this up ! Our God is Awesome God & CREATOR !

Wouldn't mutations change from every aspect of life, food water and ever air quality which could lead to different evolution mutations.
