Damascus steel technology using copper piano strings.

The video uses both the San Mai blade structure and the Mokume Gane technique and Damascus steel technology, and I don’t know what to correctly call this mixture of technologies. The porous copper in the photographs of the blade is powder steel impregnated with copper, the physics of the process is not completely clear to me, pure powder steel was poured into the container. The strings consist of a steel core wrapped with steel wire, on top of which copper wire is wound.

On my patreon page, I began to explain the processes and secrets of my work. Topics already covered:
1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.
10. In what liquid do I develop the pattern on the blade.

The fact you were able to take these metals that usually don't want to stick together and form a working piece of art like this is amazing. Truly a master of your craft, good sir

I'm going to have to watch this several times. This is by far the most intricate copper pattern I've seen in a steel blade, and I love that the strings give a further subtle pattern where there's no copper. Outstanding!

Seeing the billet created always puts me in a happy place, as much as seeing the finished blade. The Tea Master's work is appreciated!

This is the first blade that hit me this hard, I'm a lifelong piano player, learned with my dad and took lessons for 15+ years, and still play daily. I also love to cook. This is such a cross of those passions that I would love to at least know what it costs and how it cuts/looks with a handle. It is a stunning work of art and I am extremely impressed with the look of this knife.

I will never get tired of him “seasoning” the metals he uses😂

I've been watching this guy for years. Occasionally, his stuff still pops up in my feed. Every single time I come to the same conclusion, this guy is the best, cleanest knife maker I've ever seen. He certainly makes it look effortless it certainly is not.

I believe I’m not exaggerating when I say that a large community appreciates and enjoys the educational, high quality but still frugal and to the point approach. The creativity in each individual knife (and the tea break 😏), the reveal after the acid dip and rinsing always brings “a little Christmas surprise” in the heart of every blacksmith, blade smith or metal worker enthusiast.
Thank you.

I love how you can still see the twists of the strings in the final product

Always a treat when I see a new video from you, not only to see your beautiful works of art... but also to know that you are still O.K.

20 years ago my shop teacher told me it's impossible to make copper/steel damascus, when I suggested it.
I guess you proved him wrong today!

one of my favorite pieces you've ever done! the way the dark line around the copper makes it look raised off the surface is so beautiful. i am always glad to see you continue to practice your art through the war. that is resistance

The copper inside the steel is beautiful, but what I really like is that you see tiny steel parts within the copper. Such a beautiful effect!

Every time I watch your work, I'll see something that other blacksmiths will copy from you in the future.
Stay safe!

Forging videos as they should be, no talk, just forging awesome blades and some low key implied jokes.

I'll never forget the comment I saw a while ago about this being a cleverly disguised channel about tea.
Another beautiful blade. It looks amazing.
We're glad to see you're still posting, and hope your family is safe.
