I really appreciate your material. I want to share a tip you might consider. YouTube isn't about "shows" or an audience as in "you guys". You don't need the musical intro or any of that for the one-on-one experience of YouTube. It is just you and me at 2:00 AM. You can make it much more personal (and effective in my opinion) by talking directly to a curious acquaintance. You don't use all the hand waving and wild gesticulating I see so much from content creators, which is nice. I would never stand close to any of them for fear of being hit!

Just jump right in. If your video goes viral those 10 or 20 seconds could be saving man-years of time on a global basis 🙂

I almost always found when I was getting overconfident that I would remember everything on the checklist without looking, sure enough, I would forget an item. Even when flying gliders, we always had a small placard on the panel to remind us of things to check for takeoff and landing. A glider is relatively simple and slow to fly. So, things are happening much faster in a high-performance plane or a twin. Your tips are always great Jason. But then we know us Miller's always have things together....almost always.

Very informative to a student pilot with 6 hours and 1 landing in a single engine 172 that has anxiety issues every flight. I will take this under my wing.

Very true in regards to currency, just by being sick for a few weeks while working on the right seat transition for CFI had my sight picture absolutely skewed

Been waiting for 3 weeks for a new video from you. Our entire family loves your videos and your approach to teaching about flying. Your humility is refreshing and your honesty is super helpful. Thank you!

Every flight i try to work on some small thing. Recently, i've been working on parking my nosewheel on the centerline at the parking spot. That allows me to end the flight on a positive note and it's good practice for the sight picture for keeping on the centerline. Great stuff Jason, keep it coming!

Once again, great tips and pointers we all need to be reminded of occasionally as we all tend to become complacent over time.

Thanks for the great video! I've always appreciated how you talk about the difference between a checklist, do-list, and flows. This, above all else, has helped me grow as a pilot and unfortunately, my school doesn't really talk about this. Particularly when flying IFR, flow checks are a must and I'm glad that you continue to talk about this!

Hey Jason! Thanks for having one of the premier aviation instruction programs on planet Earth! Stumbling into the Finer Points stoked an interest in GA and am looking forward to enrolling in a local pilot school here in PA/NJ.
In the meantime, I have a hokey inquiry. Where did you get that snazzy Columbia jacket? I've been trying to find out which model jacket that is without any success.

Your checklist seems EXTREMELY dense it is packed with info. You can't be that rusty 😊😊 How do you recommend students to work with such a list, I mean in an emergency that list seems scaryingley big

One Q on holding the centerline, my airport has lights in the middle and they are not fully recessed and the Cessna 172 kinda gives me that small bumpy feeling when t/o or l/g, I just follow a little off-center, anyone here do that ?

Are all in flight actions really check only? I can name many items that are “do” based on the phase of the flight.

I have to laugh a bit on the distractions. I was having some mixture issues on a recent flight. So the next time I started up the plane to fly back home I stopped mid-checklist to fiddle a bit on the ground with the mixture and missed the "ALT-on" part of the checklist... I found out I missed it about 30 minutes into the flight when all the electronics stopped. :D
