Southeast Asian City looks alike and so similiar, dont expect too much esp if u been in KL or BKK. For Me SIN, JAK, KL and BKK are the best city in SEA. Enjoy your time in Indonesia.

Dany, Bundaran HI is the heart of Jakarta. Good if u start there as a bearing. Next, u have to go to SCBD and Senopati area. Glad u are liking Jakarta. Have fun :)

Welcome to Jakarta! I recommend you to explore SOUTH Jakarta using the MRT system:
1. Pacific Place Mall at Sudirman Central Business District/SCBD (open after 20 July)
2. Senopati area - the party hub of South Jakarta. Fancy bars, clubs, lounges
3.Blok M Square area - huge mall for the masses, tons of street food.
4. M Bloc - a small artsy area where the hipsters are. Nice cafes and art installations.
5. Kemang area - the expat community center, tons of international restaurants, clubs, bars

Look really clean if compare with Bangkok but food look so different I want to try anyway😋

There's still LRT construction at Rasuna Said street...so it should be tidier next year. Try SCBD, Sudirman and Thamrin streets for the nicest areas

Your area is not the nicest because it's a construction zone, it's chaotic and messy. Try Thamrin or Senayan.

Actually Jakarta is not a tourist city like Singapore, Bangkok or KL.jakarta is a central buisness city for local people and foreigners, but explore Jakarta it's good idea.

I think most people still hasn't realized that unlike Thailand and Philippine, Indonesia's economic has never rely on foreign tourism. That's why cities like Jakarta don't cater to 'sight seeing' tourist, only business ones.
