In the front range of Colorado, how much does electricity consumption change when replacing Gas fired furnace/electric AC with an electric heat pump?

We are about to pull the trigger on a Gree Flexx install. It’s sorta a compromise decision as I’d really rather do a Daikin fit. But I was quoted almost $8k more for the Daikin. I prefer the running profile of the Daikin being communicating and true ramping to follow the load. As apposed to the Gree being 24v conventional and sorta simulating a ramp profile. But I just can’t justify the additional $8k for that one feature alone. It really is a letdown because I don’t feel the Daikin should really be so much more expensive. I think the contractor is just trying to get way too much money. But unfortunately we only have that one Daikin listed contractor in our area.

I'm looking for a mini split for my garage and bonus room above it. We live in the sunny area near Orlando FL. We are served
by Duke Energy.

I noticed you guys are big fans of Daikin so I have been researching them. I noticed they owned Goodman? Do you have any feelings on Goodman? I assume that's their budget model company. Does this tech trickle down to Goodman?

I wanted to know why on a variable speed heat pump/air handler system the manufacturer only provides the Total capacity in their performance data tables
for their units but they don't say how much of this is sensible capacity and how much is latent capacity. When i asked, they told something about not being able to measure moisture control on a
variable speed unit. I was still confused by this answer... could you explain it any better?
Thanks for the great videos!

hi! like your videos. I live in a USA Zone 5. I have a question. HSPF matters more than SEER since summer is very short for me here. I’ve noticed the best systems have 23 seer etc and the average ones have 17seer. However they both have anywhere from 9.6 to 11 HSPF. If they both have a HSPF of 10 and one has a higher seer than the other will there be a difference for winter heating bills?

What’s meant by term “low ambient” heat pump?

I'm looking to install the Daikin enhanced fit heat pump with the Daikin electric variable speed furnance. We live in zone 4 and four months out of the year, we'd need A/C. Our house is south facing and has lots of windows. Without ac, it gets to about 90F inside. Will this system be able to cool our house to 72F? Also if the existing system is Goodman, is it okay to switch to Daikin? We got a quote for 4 ton since the size of the house is 3600 sq. Ft.

It would be nice if companies would just publish their power consumption figures without relying on a chart or formula to figure it out. I bought a Trane XR13 1.5 ton A/C in 2015, and couldn't figure it out. Apparently, it's a SEER 14 in most of the US, but it magically becomes a SEER 13 in my area (Canada). I think it's about 1300 watts, but why hide it?

I live SE Virginia. I thought about heat pump, but I will opt for 80% furnace and 14 SEER AC. Less moving parts to repair. I will spend the 2K in reinsulating attic and plugging up gaps.

Heat pump COP ratings are a lie!
Heat pumps are said to be 3x's more efficient than NG furnaces but, it's not true. The COP ratings does not take into account the energy used to produce the electricity used and to send it over the wires to get to your house. If you are getting your electricity from a Natural Gas energy provider (as most electric providers in the world are) then the COP that is used to rate the heat pump should include the electrical generation but they don’t. If you include the energy used to provide the electricity, then the heat pumps would no doubt be less efficient than a natural gas furnace.
