A lot of signs remind me of my grandfather's art style. He was a sign painter for many years in Nashville, TN. He also did custom pinstriping on cars and boats. He would've been happy to see traditional sign painting come back. 😊❤

My high school tech-ed teacher was a successful sign carver and sign painter for over 20 years. Eventually, he wanted greater career stability and time with his kids and became a teacher. But it's one of those careers which will have value for years, even as digital design and printing become easier and cheaper. There will always be a demand for high quality, original work.

The point of bringing your hobbies to work is a good reminder for me. I do traditional and digital artwork and love to create paintings that tell stories. Being able to do that and build my skills in ways like designing my own posters for exhibits or crafting my own sketchbooks and cuztomizing products is a good exercise to freshen myself up and step away from limitations.

I also really like how old graphic design was versatile in its look and application✨️ It's beautiful

I have this book on my shelf! I got to work with House Industries on developing and installing their temporary museum exhibit in 2017. Definitely the most visually dense exhibit I’ve been involved with, but really cool and after it was finished, it was a really immersive way to experience their type work and style. I got a copy of this book at the end as a gift for working on the exhibit.

I love your work, and am sure the House guys would too!
