All that you do is multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the reciprocal of the denominator. This cancels the denominator. So with the first example:

(2/3)/(5/8) x (8/5)/(8/5) =
[(2/3)(8/5)]/[(5/8)(8/5)]=
(2/3)(8/5) =
16//15.

She solves the second one in the same way, by multiplying both the numerator and denominator by 1/5, the reciprocal of 5.
