They have always been sensitive. Six years ago I was playing Diana jungle, fresh off diana nerf. Was matched into a norm game with phreak and auberaun. At 0:00 auberaun opened in all chat with “Diana jungle is not meta I will ban you after the match.”. I proceeded to go 16/0/16 camping both phreak and auberaun.
Once I did my first bank auberaun became quiet, phreak however was extremely offended and flamed me the entire game threatening to ban me for all kinds of things.
Once the game was over I received 7 honors and a 3 day ban.
I only responded when they directed messages at me, and I only responded with “you’re wrong” and “you must not be very good at your own game”.
The only power plats feel in life is when they interact with bronze, but as an un ranked player (on summoners rift) who has mmr high enough to play diamond/challenger norms (master/gm did not exist at the time) I can honestly say the only players with this issue are plat/dia. Challenger doesn’t act this way, gold doesn’t act this way (usually), silver doesn’t act this way, bronze does sometimes but LBH it’s cus they’re bronze (lowest rank at the time, iron did not exist)
I was dia 3 in solo treeline and dia 5 in tourney treeline, both climbs were ended short due to riot removing the twisted treeline ranked queue shortly before they completely removed the entire map.
I played the rift game I mentioned, and maybe ten or twenty more, then I quit and I haven’t played since.
Six years, mostly because treeline was removed, I am not as thin skinned as phreak or auberaun, I’m happy to continue playing a game where the devs got mad at me and temp banned me, and I did.
If they never removed treeline I would have never quit.

My brother got banned for doing poorly on mordekaiser. It was a 3 week ban and he went 1/11 in a norms match. It was his only negative game of the day but he built tear on mord and riot said he was ruining other players fun. Meanwhile cut to my ranked bot lane going 3/34 running it down all game, being toxic in chat, and then trying to get my team to ff and saying we are hostage taking, only for us to win and then say gg ez. No ban for them tho
