Session co-hosted by IAU and UNICA Network.

2021 is a critical year for higher education and Agenda 2030, including the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As the world faces multiple crises, universities are the key to healthier, greener, fairer and more inclusive societies. To show a sustainable way forward, we need active engagement from university leadership and strong partnerships to achieve the Goals. This webinar discusses how we can take charge, together, for a more sustainable future.

Drawing on the vast experience and expertise from Members of the IAU and the UNICA network, the webinar demonstrates the crucial role of academic leadership and middle management in mainstreaming sustainable development. Speakers share how leadership best practices for SD have led to successful implementation of the SDGs at their institutions. Besides applying a holistic approach, the role of student leaders and bottom-up processes for sustainability initiatives at universities are also addressed.
