On 28 May 1998, Sir Elton John spoke to ITN about winning the Ivor Novello award for Candle in the Wind 1997, also known as Goodbye England's Rose. The singer-songwriter rewrote his 1973 song Candle in the Wind in tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales following her death in August 1997. John performed the song at the princess' funeral service at Westminster Abbey on 6 September 1997.
