This way of thinking gets in the way of truly understanding who they were and what they accomplished. Ancient mystery theorists, like myself, say that the simplest explanation is most likely. The people of that time mined some ore from a place with a finite amount of the metal ratio found in the ingots plus surrounding earth that contained a large amount of zinc oxide. Smelting that would have created the metal ratios found in those undersea ingots. Once that mine was played out they couldn't make any more of this wondrous alloy because they didn't know how to do it. The ingots don't look like they are highly processed or molded in any way and seem in keeping with "bronze age" abilities that we are already aware of.

It is also noted from the Lacerta files, that extraterrestrials who visited Earth are primarily interested in copper. It has some special properties that aliens find significant. I worked for a company for 22 years that die cast zinc and aluminum.
We came up with an aluminum zinc compound that was light like aluminum but stronger from the zinc
Zinc 28 I think. It’s been years I’m retired now. But it was used in axle housings and differentials. Was a breakthrough at the time.
