I never really thought about it, but the Ankh does look a lot like a syringe lol. Maybe that's what it was (or a similar device). I used to wear an Ankh around my neck every day in high school, because I liked the fact that it symbolizes immortality of the soul.. And maybe that's what immaculate conception is all about, since you wouldn't need anything other than a device to do it. Very interesting...
