The real reason, King Tut was perhaps laid to rest in Nefertiti's tomb, was because the Egyptians had a very profound understanding of the afterlife. There was only a certain amount of time between when a Pharaoh died, and when he had to be laid to rest. King Tut was very young when he died, its more plausible, his death was unforeseen and thus when he died, they did not have a tomb built for him. So they added chambers on to his potential mother's tomb, and buried him in there. This is why the tomb is smaller and the paintings and artwork are less detailed, they were pressed for time.

She had an elongated head because the Egyptian royals would bind their babies heads (infants skulls are still malleable at that age) to create that shape so that the common people would believe they were more than human.

It was also a common practice in other parts of Africa.
