As someone getting into vlogging, I got the g7x mark iii. Personally, I think the colors look way better on the canon, and after watching reviews, I saw the stabilization was better on the canon, where the sony looked pretty shaky in standard stabilization, which is important for vlogs. The Sony has the best autofocus, but the autofocus on the g7x is good enough.

Update: The G7X Mk II first came out in 2016. Canon no longer supports it unless under warranty. Parts for it are hard to find. Ours stopped turning on one day. We searched and finally found a shop that would take on the repair so we sent it out to them. 363 dollars later, and a new main circuit board we are shooting again. Just fyi for those looking at this particular model.

For us, the showstopper was that the Canon has a built in flash, so it is more of an all around compact camera we can carry in a pocket.

I don't know why everyone is comparing so much details but the most important part which is actually the photos that are clicked and the bookeh effect nd screen aperture....!!Not even a single person has shown that. 85% of the videos are useless .. but urs is still better but missing my points still

The Canon G7 X Mark III looks to be the better all rounder camera. It has controls that are perfect for shooting both stills and video. The colors straight out of the camera is also better than the Sony to me at least. It also looks like the build quality seems more high quality compared to the Sony ZV-1, which looks pretty cheap. I did read online that Canon has fixed the G7 X Mark III autofocus with a series of firmware updates they have released. It is currently on backorder on Canon's website unfortunately. This is also great news since it shows that Canon is still putting research development in the G7 X series!

Great video, I own both cameras, zv1 is designed around video and the flip out screen makes it almost impossible for candid stills, big record button on the top as well is disastrous for stills and requires a look at the top at times to confirm your on the right button, all in all a slow still camera to use but a good video camera, the g7xiii is a very confident still camera with a usable zoom enabling decent portraits on the go, I think one camera scenario would always be the g7xiii as the camera to grab .

In my experience, the Canon Mark 3 is a much better camera. I owned the Mark III until I destroyed it (Don't ask...LOL) Then I purchased the Zv-1. The menu I got used to, but I found the sharpness of the images lacking...They are both great pieces of kit, but the Canon is going back into m y motorcycle tank bag.

Hey man, this was exactly the video I needed to see, thanks for making it. I currently shoot all of my channels videos with a Canon EOS R, which I absolutely love and have no reason to replace for talking head fits in the studio. But I do my Vlogging with the ZV one which I absolutely hate, And seen the picture and image quality and colors of you shooting this video with the G7 X just made me realize that’s the camera I want for my vlogging. But can I ask you if the image you got was straight out of camera, did you do any color grading or use a custom picture profile? Because I love how soft and saturated the colors of the G7 X compared to how harsh and bright the image of the ZV1 is.
