My struggle with communication growing up

Показать описание
Growing up I struggled with connecting with others because I sucked at communication.

It wasn't until I took full responsibility for my life and stopped blaming others for where I was in life that things started to change. I made a full commitment to learning how to become a better communicator.

I dedicated myself to learning how to connecting with others better. I learnt from singing teachers, theatre coaches, speech pathologists, vocal experts and more to improve my voice and develop my speaking skills.

If you saw footage of me 10 years ago speaking, you'd notice that I've completely transformed as a communicator. And this just proves that communication is not something you're born with, but a skill that can be learned.

Begin your journey today to improve your communication skills, and I promise you, it's the tide that lifts all boats - your life will never be the same again.

This is a great example of why it always frustrates me so much when people use the word "talented". Chances are if someone's really good at something, they worked really hard to get that good at it. Even if they are naturally gifted, they still had to work at it.

I’ve had to teach myself social skills from the ground up. Couldn’t interact properly whatsoever 7 years ago. 21 now, and as time goes on I look out for the awkward moments in life to embrace, and dealing with the awkwardness improves my confidence and experience.

I have had a very similar experience, walking around school for the whole duration of lunch, in my senior years I luckily found a small group of friends to spend it with

I am the Vinh of my friend group. It took years to develop my confidence. My friends dated the girls I wanted, I struggled to make friends with new people, and I wanted a life of adventure and bravado but couldn’t find it in me to leap for anything. I had enough, and I started with getting more bold in my speech, then in my actions, and after years of experimenting and taking risks, I’m the one known for being ballsy in my group, the “legend” people admire. It truly is a skill he’s right, but you have to take on the risk of failure to get here. But is it worth it to be the person you want to be? Hell yes.

It’s amazing to think that someone who struggled with English so young is giving me (English is my first and only language) advice on how to speak properly. I hope he knows how valuable of a teacher he trues is

Dude, that part about sitting in the bathroom all lunch and recess made me really sad. I think I knew kids who did similar things bc they didn’t have friends or couldn’t speak English very well when I was a child in school.

I feel it. I grew up with a stutter (that I still have, but is less severe now), and it led me to seeking to master the art of communication
