Coldplay are brilliant at making extremely catchy atmospheric songs haha

I agree, the lyrics here weren't as strong but I'll give credit when credit is due.. this song keeps getting stuck in my head so that's something. Liked the ending part more than the opening.

Great breakdown Rafa! It's great to have a grasp of what goes on in the harmony (because I bought and watched and rewatched the course, mind you!) so I can apply it on my songs. Certainly it's not Coldplay's best song, but it checks all of the boxes to make it .... nice. Not everything can be a Parachutes song, not even from them.

Going back to the subject of understanding what's going on ... I was surprised while playing some Spanish songs from La Oreja de Van Gogh (2000s) and Los Rodriguez (90s) the ridiculous amount of secondary dominants, borrowed chords and so on that go on in what in my mind was "simple pop" music. Kinda like a masterclass each on their own!

great video! thank you for that! 🫶
i really love flifil at first because i'm a huge Coldplay fan but also because they created a new song that gets stuck in my head immediately because of the pregnant refrain and typical Coldplay like elements you mentioned. for me it's a beautiful song 🩵

Another great breakdown Rafa. You managed to make me very interested in a very average Coldplay song. 👍 p.s. Surrender is brilliant!

Thanks a lot for the analysis! I'm interested in the interesting harmony right before the choruses, but my ears arent good enough yet to put an exact finger on it. I'm thinking it's a Bb that gives it the colour?

Great video and personality. You will definitely gain a much bigger audience if you keep posting and improving. I dont know the exact problem, but there something with your audio that feels too loud or at least stand out from the audio of the video you’re reacting to. It could be that you speak too aggressive as well I’m not sure. But during the video I got half jump-scared sometimes when you started talking, my head slightly hurt too. I don’t know exactly what the problem is, but I believe that if you fix it it will help viewer retention and gaining more subscribers.

Perhaps try to have less contrast between your voice/audio and the audio of the video you’re reacting to. So it blends better and make it seem more seamless. Lastly, you’re input is very interesting and you should keep on doing that and work on it, perhaps make it more clear or concrete. You have a fun, chaotic and passionate personality. If you’re able to apply this without being overwhelming I 100% believe you will be able to make a living off of youtube one day, if that’s what you want.

I’m not a youtuber or anything so I don’t know if my input is valuable or correct.
But if anything you at least gained a new subscriber.
Good luck!

And this is why you’re a YouTube nobody, whereas Chris Martin is a global phenomenon who makes millions of people happy… keep being average, it suits you
