This is a strut mount bearing with 40k miles on it. It seized up resulting in jerky stiff steering. It came from a 2019 Nissan Murano SV.

Experience thus far. SKF Japan and India no issues. Have not (and did not know) come across SKF bearings from China yet, but will certainly not even entertain the possibility of using now.

I was in a gearbox shop recently discussing output shaft bearing failure on Renault Trafic vans and he said depending on where the SKF bearing were manufactured depends on where and if he would fit them with non-Japan bearings being the issue e.g. made in Mexico.

I had a brand new SKF driveshaft center support bearing come with barely any grease. The bearing had seals so it should of been pre-packed and it was labeled as such. Sadly I found out after I installed it and put the driveshaft back in my truck. Had a terrible vibration at 40mph.

Looks like they made a few hundred with a faulty grease injector, and QC was doing a Homer Simpson that day.

Wow. I replaced my head stem bearings with SKF bearings. Made in japan ones though.

where do you stand on new vs old. I'd love to keep it simple but some of the new tech like ABS and side airbags etc small things go a long ways. If possible I'd pay to have some of theses installed on older rides honestly find very little if any desire to buy anything made past the 2000s so much tech to go wrong harder to make things last. Would you consider an opinion video on bullet proof older rides to look at buying. The fact I can't trust others to work on my stuff without trust issues and charging me more then it's worth is depressing I do all my own work I hope one day to build a resto mod. Any gripes about new trends in cars and trucks
