I remember back when before FNAF 6 was released, many people believed that Springtrap was Michael Afton due to the line quote on quote "They thought that i was you" indicating that the spirits of the missing children has mistaking Michael as his father aka William Afton aka the man behind the slaughter. Rather having William Afton be the one springlocked, Michael instead was the one Springlocked which killed him slowly and painfully. When the missing children realized what they have done, it was already too late. "What have we done?!" They screamed, they have killed the wrong guy and now they are truly trapped in the old abandoned pizzeria never to get out until many decades later when Michael Afton (now Springtrap) was found by the folks who are on set in opening their horror attraction at the amusement park called Fazbear's Fright. This would bring Michael Afton the opportunity to end all of this by burning down the place full of sadness, pain, agony, anger, envy, sorrow, and regret. So he pours the gasoline all over the inside of the building and with a flick of the match, he set the place on fire with himself remain inside along with the missing children ascending into the heaven finally free from the pain that they've had endured for so long. Of course now here's the dialogue that started the debate:

"Father, it's me Michael. I did it, i found it. It was right where you said it would be, they were all there. They didn't recognize me at first but then... They thought i was you. And i found her, i put her back together just like you asked me to. She's free now, but something is wrong with me. I should be dead, but i'm not. I have been living in shadows. There is only one thing left for me to do now, I'm going to come and find you. *I'm going to come and find you*".

Now this right here is what got people thinking that Springtrap was Michael Afton in the first place, and what he meant by he found her and put her back together. The reason is that it's Elizabeth Afton aka Michael Afton's her sister which got separated from Ennard long ago and now that she's put back together they will now go and find their father and end all of this once and for all. Now i know this sounds like i'm creating an FNAF AU but i assure you that all of this was way back before Scott Cawthon debunked the Miketrap and confirmed that Springtrap is in fact William Afton. I hope this comment helps you understand the history of FNAF and filling in the gaps of events of what the FNAF community was before and why Dark Springtrap was even a thing to begin with. I’m gonna be honest with you literally yesterday I was making a list of some of the Freddy animatronics and I was like isn’t there a phantom shadow Freddy, and as I’m looking up photos of him, I only found like two photos of him when I looked him up because I also mistake him as golden Freddy, but when I looked on the wiki, I don’t see nothing about him at least when I was like that is crazy because I knew this animatronic existed but barely found anything on the Internet about him

I feel like another animatronic that would be a good pick would be bidybab. Sure they're in hw2 but in very minor roles they aren't in ultimate custom night and in hw2 their roles seem replaced. With baby's mini game using plush babies instead of bidybabs. Their role was once really important now just used as an easter egg or minor enemy role
