Would you leave your partner if you really disliked their family? 

Fiona brought her boyfriend, Dave, to meet her dad. The man was very pleasant in front of his daughter, playing the part of a supportive parent. But the second he was alone with Dave, he told him to break up with Fiona. “I don’t want my daughter dating a black man”, he said to the guy while handing him ten grand as “motivation” to leave her. Dave felt beyond insulted. He refused the money and said that he truly loved Fiona. He’d stay with her even if it meant dealing with her racist father. 

But the man was determined. He looked into Dave’s past and found out that his dad was wrongfully imprisoned. He approached Dave and said that if he left his daughter, he’d guarantee his father’s freedom. And if he refused, he’d make sure he stayed in jail for the rest of his life.

I have been in a funk ever since the November 5 election. This DramatizeMe Special collection has really helped me today. Trump's America may be racist, prejudiced, and intolerant, but DramatizeMe shows that there is the golden city on the hill, the ideal to be strived for. These stories are all tales about racism and prejudice, but that all have the theme of people doing what is right. The episode with Filip, where Filip played a racist gangster had such a satisfying ending as did the 4th episode -- both episodes with Don Allen. The third episode with Istan Rozumny, Carlos Soares and Denis Tuchkov was just perfectly cast and so inspiring. It brought tears to my eyes. Davina Reeves Ciara was just perfect in episode 2. With the writing and casting, I yell Bravo -- five times over. This was truly a Special.

This stuff is very common in very conservative families, in which they serve family "honour" code. Severely, some family member may beat or murder their daughter or both the fiancee and her for marrying out of different race as they accused them of "dishonouring" the family.
