I used to trace. Bit the bullet, took an online course and learned to do extensive adjustments digitally. No paper. The projector has been a game changer!

It's something I've been considering for a while. I'm team Rachel Maksy and total floor troll. However as age has been catching up to me I'm wanting a cutting table more and more. I started out with PDF patterns when I started sewing dresses foe my daughter back when Ellie and Mac was still Little 4 Awhile and Lindsey was just getting into pattern making, I used to print the patterns out then trace every single pice out on freezer paper. Very tedious and time consuming, but it left me with a pattern that I could just iron out onto the fabric and make nice clean cuts. I've gotten lazy over the last couple years and just stared taping and cutting everything out. Only slightly less tedious. I'm also at the point where I'm tired of losing my tape or mixing up my paper scissors with my fabric scissors. So it's been something that I've been considering, since Morgan Donner showed hers. First I need to get off the floor. It's easier to move a cat off said fabric or pattern when you're not playing floor troll and your knees aren't rebelling against you. Anyways good information to know. Thanks 😊

As said sewing youtuber, I do think I would like one at some point. I do like your method of just tracing from the projection because I do do so many adjustments normally.

Thank you very much ❣️ I already have a projector and wanted to see the process..I have about 30 digital patterns I gathered during the plague, the very large I'll still send to the printer, because I would cost me more for the extra large paper than for him to process them for me. His cost a extremely reasonable. But I would like to do the rest at home . Thanks again for showing your procedures ❤

Thanks for taking the time to explain the process, it looks really amazing. One day I will invest in a projector, but I have to learn the basics of sewing for now.

Ha ha not me staring a stack of over 100 pieces of paper that need a quarter of an inch trimmed off each edge before I can tape them together. I literally just downloaded them again yesterday and then this popped up and I really have to get this figured out becauseamount of resources it takes between paper cutter ink tape and most importantly… Time… Makes me realize that when I get that impulse control and that immediate gratification of the instant delivery of the PDF that my current system is not actually immediate gratification at all.

I've started to get my patterns printed in a0 or a1 format - costs me about 5 to 11€ per pattern including shipping, but it's worth it for me since i barely have the energy to sew nowadays let alone tape together patterns beforehand 😅

Thanks Marie! What a great video, I never thought of projecting straight onto fabric!! I guess there is some feature for the projector to project 90 degrees so you can set it up beside the table as opposed above the table?

Do you need a specific type of projector to work with the software you mentioned? Or can I purchase any projector and it will work?
