I read the outsiders for school when I was pretty young but still, to this day, it's one of my favourites modern classic/classic book. Not only it will break your heart but also you'll fall in love with the style and atmosphere. I am so happy you are reading this!

Let's all be honest here...we could all probably find an excuse everyday to buy a book...happy, sad, stressed, congratulatory....all reasons we buy books. I know I buy too many of them but we've all got our vices and this one at least enriches the mind. And it's not drugs.
The Power of One is one of my all time favorite books! I want more people to read it and love it. I read it on the recommendation of a friend in college and after reading her copy, ran out and bought my own. Tandia, the second book is good but doesn't quite hold up to the first. Bless PK and his wonderful heart!

Great video as always April, so excited for the classics, I have The Scarlett Letter, The picture of Dorian Gray, and Great Expectations which I'm reading just now, I am really enjoying it and looking forward to hear your thoughts about it. I spotted the rubbery editions in Waterstones last week and they were so beautiful but so expensive 😔

I'm not sure if it's the fo using but it seems like the background is moving and it's making me a little seasick. I adore the penguin English library editions, they're beautiful. I read the Picture of Dorian Grey last month and loved it. I'm a big Dicken's fan and I love Great Expectations, his writing is very easy to get into. I really want to get The Outsiders at some point, it seems like my type of modern classic.

I just got A room with a view out from the library. Your editions looks gorgeous :D I find reading Charles Dickens such a chore. I hope you'll have better luck with him than me. And you have to watch the BBC mini series of North and South as soon as you read the book. Amazing :D

Monte Cristo is so fast paced I read it in like 3 days. Still one of my all time favourite books

I love the Penguin English library editions, they're so beautiful! I'm so sad that they changed the texture though. I recently read A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and loved it! It wasn't as dense and confusing as I thought it would be. I set myself a goal of reading a classic a month and so far I've read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Sense and Sensibility, ATOTC, The Great Gatsby and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch by Solzhenitsyn and I enjoyed them all. I went overboard and read three classics in March, woo!

I'm from South Africa and we had to read The Power of One in school in Grade 9... I vaguely remember that I did like the book, but I think I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have because of all of the school work we had to do for it. I couldn't just sit and relax and enjoy the read... I think I must pick it up again.
